Dear Friends,
The Seventh Annual Meeting of the Cyberwhoremonger's Club will be held from Wednesday, July 16, through Sunday, July 20, 2003. This is an annual meeting of people (customers and prostitutes) who visit and work at the legal Nevada brothels. Please consider this an open invitation for you to attend - just read the following and you should find answers to all your questions.
Click here to read about the 2003 Las Vegas (Pahrump City / Nye County) area convention I'm putting together. Click here to read last year's (2002) CWMCM#6 web page. Click here to read about the July 13 - 15 2003 EASTNEV#1 event that preceeds CWMCM#7.
Be seeing you.
The following are frequently asked questions and their answers :
1. When/where is the banquet?
The CWMCM#7 banquet will be held on the evening / night of Friday, July 18, 2003, and will be hosted by Bree and Curious. To attend you must pay in advance for each reservation, which is $35 apiece (tip and tax included). Below are the steps you must go through to reserve your banquet seats :
1. Send an e-mail message to Curious at "curious@securenym.net" with subject line "CWMCM7_Banquet".
2. Please include your online "handle" in your request.
3. Tell Curious how many reservations you wish to pay for, at $35 a head. Curious will then e-mail you back with a postal address that you can send a personal check or money order to, along with the name you should make that check or money order out to.
4. Identify, for each of your reservations, which of the following main entree's are desired :
B: Sliced London Broil, with mushroom sauce and Yukon Gold mashed potatoes.
C: Baked Salmon with roasted walnut garlic cream sauce with rice pilaf and seasonal veggies.
6. By Tuesday, July 08, Curious will e-mail you the location of the Friday night CWMCM#7 banquet. He might even give it to you earlier than that.
7. This banquet is a private event hosted by Curious and Bree. They have told me that all customers of legal Nevada prostitutes and the legal Nevada prostitutes themselves are welcome, as well as the friends and family of those prostitutes and customers. However, Bree and Curious respectfully ask all brothel owners and managers not to attend this private event. If you have questions about this banquet then please feel free to e-mail those questions to Bree or Curious.
As for the CWMCM#7 awards, please see question #13 below for what ArcticBear has to say.
2. When/where is the picnic/barbeque?
The CWMCM#7 picnic/barbeque will happen on the afternoon of Saturday, July 19, 2003. The CWMCM#6 (July 2002) picnic/barbeque was hosted by Bree, and she says that the "Bree Picnic III" will be held during CWMCM#7. E-mail her for details.
There will also be a Western-style barbeque at The Old Bridge Ranch from 3:00 TO 5:30 PM on Thursday, July 17, hosted by David Burgess. Thanks, Dave! Also, Susan Austin, manager of The Wild Horse Canyon Ranch, will be hosting a cocktail party there at the WHCR from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM (see question #5 below).
3. When/where are the morning meetings?
The location of the morning (muffin) meetings used to be at the City Cafe Bakery in Carson City, across from the Ormsby House. However, I'm planning on two new Reno-area locations for the morning meetings to replace the Carson City muffin meetings, unless some people just want to attend the Carson City meetings at the old location.
The meetings will start at 10:00 AM and will continue for as long as people care to stay around. For Wednesday, July 16 through Friday, July 18, 2003, the morning meetings will be at Heidi's Family Restaurant at 8195 South Virgina Street (775.852.0113) in Reno, Nevada. The meetings will be held in the smoking room immediately to your left as you enter through the front door, or outside that room on the patio for those of you who don't smoke or who want to sit outside. You will be able to order a full breakfast at Heidi's. Please don't confuse this Heidi's with the other Heidi's on Virginia Street!
For Saturday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20, 2003, also starting at 10:00 AM (but maybe earlier on Sunday for those who need to catch an early flight), the morning meetings will be held at Scruples Bar & Grill at 91 West Plumb Lane (775.322.7171) in Reno, Nevada. The meetings will be held outside in the front courtyard. You will be able to order a full breakfast at Scruples.
These meetings are open for anyone who wants to attend. Drop on by, you will meet several members of the cyber-community there!
4. When/where are the afternoon meetings?
In previous years the afternoon (micro-brewery) meetings were held at the Brew Brothers micro-brewery on 345 N Virginia Street in Reno, but during CWMCM#6 (July 2002) they were held at Rocky's and tentatively will be held there again during CWMCM#7.
Starting at 3:00 PM and continuing for as long as people care to stay around, there will be meetings every afternoon at Rocky's during CWMCM#7 except for Thursday afternoon because of the barbeque at The Old Bridge Ranch, and Saturday afternoon because everyone will be at the picnic/barbeque hosted by Bree. Rocky's address is 211 North Virginia Street (near Second Street, across the street from Harrah's). Phone : 775.322.7620. Rocky's is a sports theme bar on the second floor of the place, first floor is mainly slots.
5. Will there be a Thursday night cocktail party?
Susan Austin, manager of The Wild Horse Canyon Ranch, will be hosting a cocktail party there from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM (after the Old Bridge Ranch barbeque - see question #2 above) on the evening of Thursday, July 17. The invitation is open to everyone, including other brothel owners and working girls from other ranches. Thanks, Susan!
For the past three years there has been a Thursday night cocktail party held at Kitty's by Dennis Hof, owner of Kitty's Ranch and the Moonlite Bunny Ranch. I've contacted Dennis about whether he wants to hold a cocktail party any time during CWMCM#7 but I have yet to hear back from him. If he desires to host a cocktail party at any time during CWMCM#7 then I'll gladly announce it here.
6. Who can attend these meetings?
Anyone. The public meetings listed above are open to anyone who wants to attend. There is no real agenda, just some friends getting together and talking about computers and prostitutes and whatever else comes to mind. For some private events like the banquet and Saturday picnic/barbeque you must make advance reservations and get the approval from the hosts to attend, but for public events like the morning and afternoon meetings, just show up. You might also read this for clarification of what constitutes a private versus a public event.
7. I don't want anyone to know who I am!
Then don't tell us! Make up a name. We will not invade your privacy, although we will certainly ask you general questions like, "Which girls have you boinged?"
8. How many people are going to be there?
Around seventy (70) people attended the CWMCM#4 banquet, with about 40% of those being women. For CWMCM#5, fifty-two (52) people attended the banquet, with about 50% of those being women. The CWMCM#6 banquet had about fifty-three (53) people. As for CWMCM#7, nobody knows.
9. What girls will be working?
Nobody knows. As CWMCM#7 approaches that will become more evident.
10. Is there a designated hotel that'll serve as headquarters?
No. If a decision is made to designate a hotel then that will be announced here.
11. How formal are these meetings?
Extremely informal. Drop in and out of them as you please. People will come and go randomly and various spontaneous and unscheduled events will occur.
12. When will guys be visiting the brothels?
In general, guys and gals are visiting the brothels when the spirit moves them. If you want to meet with your friends at a brothel then you can always try e-mailing them ahead of time and arranging to meet at one of the brothels. During CWMCM#4, CWMCM#5 and CWMCM#6, there were cocktail parties hosted at Kitty's, and one may be planned for CWMCM#7 (see question #5 above).
I did have some brothel meetings scheduled during CWCM#6, but missed the scheduled Saturday night Moundhouse meetings, so please understand that I can not always meet my commitments.
13. Where can I get information on voting for the annual awards?
ArcticBear says he wishes to host the 2002 CWMC LPIN awards. The following are two messages he recently posted concerning the status of those awards :
On April 19, 2003, at 03:34 PM, in this message :
But this year I just can't drop that kind of dough at least not right away. I've always said since last summer's meeting that the awards would either be done in the Spring or Fall of 2003. At this point it looks more like toward the fall.
So that's where it stands at this point.
On April 20, 2003, at 01:36 PM, in this message :
First off, I don't recall ever saying I wasn't going to do the awards again. I did say they wouldn't be part of this years banquet. And there's a very good reason for that.
The summer banquet was originally envisioned as more or less an informal dinner where folks could get together and meet. Though the course of time it's developed into something that the original people never intended nor apparently wanted. Last year was the culmination of that problem where the entire event became to formal for some of the old timers.
And despite much of the conflict involving me stepping away from that event, I tend to agree that it needs to get back to it's roots, if that's possible.
In anycase I stated I wanted to keep doing the awards and have done so for a reason. Last year the houses were able to get some terrific recognition in the press by way of the awards. The Chicken Ranch got exposure nationally and internationally, and the Courtesan of the Year, Summer even wound up getting a photo shoot in Playboy Japan due in some small part to the exposure off the awards. This is the problem, in order to utilize a tool such as that, you have to be willing to accept the exposure and capitalize on it. And in fact I believe that this is in direct confict with the desires of those planning the summer festivities. (at least that's much of the major complaints I was informed of last year).
I have no plans of abdicating the awards at this time, but frankly do not see them coming off until Fall, unless there are those that would like to get on board and help out with the finances. And to that end as I've always said, anyone that wants to get on board is certainly welcome. And not just for funding but for all aspects of doing the awards. I've always thought that they should be the culmination of clients, houses and working girls and not the private perview of a couple people.
But I still content, that the awards in their current state are not compatible with the wishes and desires of the CWC groups summer dinner. And that is why they have been moved. I see no reason why others can't produce awards for the dinner, in fact I believe some have already discussed having some "fun" awards this year. But in the long run, anything that is to be presented at the summer meeting really should be discussed with those planning that event. Not doing so is completely inappropriate and to some degree undermining their attempts to maintain a certain flavor for the event.
As for the LPIN awards, to answer some above questions, I've been asked to consider adding awards for some type of Rookie status Courtesan, maybe a Miss Congeniality award in addition to Courtesan of the Year. And as far as I've heard the concept of Brothel of the Year, Small Brothel of the Year and Most Immproved Brothel of the year are still enough.
As for nominations and voting, that's really not that difficult. There's already precident for it, and despite the usual grumblings, it worked well and was easy to validate. The truth is no matter who handles the polling, someone is going to bitch.
Let me tell you guys this. This whole concept is a huge headache especially with all the bullshit you have to put up with. The only reason why I don't throw in the towel on it is because I truely believe that if it's done right, promoted right, and handled responsibly, that the girls, the houses and us clients will all benefit from it. I guarentee that if all your trying to do is promote your fav, you won't want any part of this thing. It's a monster and it easily can get out of control.
As for me, I would truely love to have some help doing this. But the truth is thay only one person offered help last year. Many people love to talk the talk, but when it comes down to pinning down the awards to be given, picking them out, paying for them, developing a FAIR system for voting, and dealing with those that dont' want to help but certainly are willing to second guess at every point, it's a hell of a lot of work for one or two people.
14. Will there be a shooting event?
There were shooting events during CWMCM#4, CWMCM#5 and CWMCM#6, hosted by Broken Wing. He has yet to tell me if he will host a CWMCM#7 shooting event, and when and where and other details.
15. Are there any online discussions going about CWMCM#7?
Yes. I invited Sunset Thomas to attend CWMCM#7.
If you have any further questions, then please feel free to either post them on the message board or e-mail them to me.
Be seeing you,
