Dear Friends,

Winterfest as a get together started in the minds of Flyfisher and Cowboy as a reason to meet in between CWMCMs in July.  The event was planned around the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday holiday because two regulars on the message boards had birthdays near that weekend and it almost exactly split the time between CWMCMs.

Winterfest is much like CWMCM, but on a much smaller scale.  For FAQs about what goes on at these gatherings, please visit the CWMCM13 page here.

Winterfest 2009 will once again be held over the MLK Birthday weekend.  This winter, it will begin on Friday, January 16, 2009 (the day after Dr. King's actual birthday) and run through Monday, January 19, 2009 (the day his birthday is observed as a holiday). Remember, everyone is welcome to attend Winterfest, the group enthusiasticly encourages first-time attendees.

The following section details all known events:

Event Details:

1. As per custom, breakfast meetings will be held at Scruples Bar & Grill, 91 W. Plumb Lane in Reno, beginning at approximately 10:00 in the morning (PST) each day beginning on Friday morning the 16th.  For information on and directions to Scruples (including a detailed map), please click here.
2. Interested_bystander has announced that a "happy hour" gathering will be held at the Fireside Lounge of the Peppermill Hotel & Casino, 2707 S. Virginia Street in Reno, beginning at approximately 4:00 p.m. (PST) on Friday afternoon the 16th.  This will be an informal "meet & greet" style event, and everyone is invited to attend.  This event is scheduled to last about two hours, but given past history some will surely opt to stay longer or reconvene elsewhere for dinner and/or "dessert" (i.e., brothel hopping).

3. Stable Keeper has asked me to announce that Lance Gilman and Susan Austin invite you all to attend a "cocktail party" to be held at the World Famous Mustang Ranch (WFMR), located off exit 28 of I-80 near Patrick, beginning at approximately 8:30 p.m. (PST) on Friday evening the 16th.  For directions to the WFMR (and the best map to be found of its surrounding area), please click here to view its entry in Speed Racer's LPIN Driving Direcctions.
