EDITORIAL #018 :
She may be your friend, but she is not your girl friend.
Over the years there has been a double standard in the legal Nevada prostitution industry. When it is in the best self interest of working girls to represent themselves as not being the customer's girlfriend, such as when a customer becomes obsessive, then they (the working girls) are quick to point out that they are not the guy's girlfriends, and they are correct when they say that. However, when it is in their best self interest to say that they are the customer's girl friend, or at least that they should be treated as if they were the customer's girl friend, such as when they say that the customer can not tell the world what he paid her, then the working girls are wrong. Very wrong.
I have this feeling that there are those who will mis-represent what I am saying here. I believe, and have always believed, that customers must treat the working girls with respect, and afford them all the honor and dignity that any and all professionals deserve. In other words, the working girls must be treated like human beings. I'm sure that nobody would disagree with this.
But it is a lie when a working girl (or anyone else) says that it is nobody's business what the working girl was paid or what sex acts were performed in exchange for that payment except for the two principals. The customer has an absolute right (and I'm not afraid to use the word "absolute" here) to tell the entire world what he paid her and how much time she gave him and what legal sex acts they committed. I will stress the word "legal" here because I'm sure that some folk will get confused over that issue. The working girls are professionals, and they should be treated as such, and that includes the voluntary public disclosure of details of the transaction by the customer.
Privacy must still be maintained. The customer must not reveal the girl's true identity (assuming he knows it), but he can certainly mention her anonymous "stage" name and what brothel she works at. The customer revealing what money he paid her, how much time she gave him, and what legal sex acts they engaged in is absolutely not a violation of her privacy.
You should treat all people with respect. That is a central part of my personal philosophy. Working girls are no exception, and God knows I just love them all!
She may be your friend, but she is not your girl friend. Remember that.
Be seeing you.
