LL says of Sportsman, "My problem is your telling girls your plan to write reviews during negotiations. That's a procedural violation that results in automatic disqualification, according to me."

EDITORIAL #037 :

Every party is above average?

I see that guys are still debating the merits of reviews of prostitute services over on nvbrothels. Seems that they've given up on the debate on the C.W. Monger SIN message board.

There was a time that I edited such reviews - I called them "field reports". There are a lot of things I could write about what makes a quality field report, and I'm sure that other guys would have their own take on this, but today I'm going to limit myself to observations about rating the service that a prostitute renders.

What I'm talking about here is not others rating some guy's review, but rather how that fellow, as the author, chooses to rate the hooker in question. In order to rate her, he has to say something about her and about her service, and as always there is some context within which he must frame his rating. It is about that context that I consider here.

Lets say that a guy who has frequented LPIN for years has had really good parties. In fact, almost every one of the parties he has had, with many different ladies, has been not just good but very good, so that the clear majority of his parties have given him an experience that was everything he wanted out of a session with a prostitute, and he (almost) always wanted away completely happy.

There is no real problem with this situation. Fact is, it is a wonderful situation to be in! However, there is one consequence to having so many really good parties, and that is that almost all of your parties are average.

Again, having almost every one of your parties be an average party, where "average" means it knocks your socks off, is a very good situation to be in! But how do you communicate it in a review? Context is everything, and the context that I see guys try to put a positive review into is one where their lady of choice provides exceptional service, better than what most other ladies provide. If an author truly feels that way about her service, then please do state it. However, I see regular review writers, many of whom are my friends, fall into this trap of every party they review as being exceptional. My point is that every party can not, at the same time, be both average and exceptional.

One way that guys gloss over this is to say that every party is unique and can not be compared to any other party. This is nonsense and a complete and total cop-out. I suspect that one of the big problems is that most guys just can't remember shit, and so could not make a comparison even if they tried.

I could go on about what I think should go into a good review of a prostitute's services, and I may do so in a future editorial, but until guys get over this notion that all their parties are above average, you will not see very many useful and honest reviews from guys who frequent many legal Nevada prostitutes.

NOTE : If you look up the phrase "hurry up and wait" you will see my employer listed there. Last week I was notified that I will probably have to go on a business trip of from two to four week's duration, to start no later than October and maybe even sooner. My employer does not yet know when this trip will start, and does not know when they will know when, so all I can do is just wait for the decision to be made. What this means is that I may not be able to make NYE#2. I also may not be able to continue my weekly LPIN summary until after I return from the trip, in which case I will not be able to cover the weeks I missed as I have previously done during my vacations. Just thought I'd let you know my status.

Be seeing you.

Bashful

Quote of the week : "Writing what you did at places like brothels is cathartic. It has the same effect as lying down on shrink's bed and talking about it. Instead of shrink, you talk to the internet audience.." -- LL, Friday, September 12, 2003, 08:57 PM.
