There is a lot of chatter going on about McKenna. here and here and here. There is more, but I'll leave it at that for now. Personally I think that LL and Curious need to travel to Pahrump and have a threesome with McKenna just to get her out of their systems. Maybe Chay could join in, too.

I have no idea if "Lurker" is on the up-and-up.

My opinion is the same as that of OffLeash and Curious.

Photos of Kellycious.

Tracy Quan has got it right.

I figured I'd just put in this link, for no good reason whatsoever.

I figured I'd just put in this link, for several good reasons.

EDITORIAL #038 :

Too much noise!

There have been several proposals for solving the problems over on the nvbrothels.net message board. Although there is some debate about exactly what those problems are, it would seem that most people would admit that there are too many messages being posted that have no real content to them. There are several types of these messages, including huge numbers of simple one-liners, messages that clearly should go to private e-mail or inboxes, cum-see-me's, and my least favorite, messages posted merely to bring a thread back to the top of the heap. What these nuisance posts do is drown out the meaningful posts, and there are some, in a churning sea of noise. I want to pull those good posts out of that noise, which is one reason why I compile this review every week.

I will not consider here what others have proposed for solutions to these problems, but will spell out my solution. The powers-that-be over on nvbrothels.net are free to implement it if they so choose. I freely offer them this solution.

What is my proposed solution? Limit the number of posts per person to two per day.

Yep, that is it. A very simple solution. Sure, a solution that would penalize the good posters, but then no solution to these problems will have no undesirable consequences. The point is to minimize the negatives while maximizing the positives and I think that my proposal does this better than any other suggestion I've read.

What my proposal does is make people think before posting. It is obvious to me that there is precious little thinking going on and I want to encourage it (encourage more thinking, not less). I am hopeful that more thinking will equate to more, and better, content.

This is certainly something that can be done since most forums there already require registration. This would not be possible without some form of registration. There may have to be some changes to the board script to keep track of how many posts per day each poster makes, but I imagine that this would be easy to implement.

I can imagine someone saying that it would be terrible for someone to expend their two daily posts and then there would arise an important thread that they would now be locked out of contributing to. I maintain that this is a bogus objection. One of the really great aspects of my proposal is that it would slow things down. That two post per day limit would not only apply to you, but to everyone else as well, so all you would have to do is wait until the next day and then post your message to that all-important thread. This would give you all that time to think through what you want to say and make your post all that much better!

I do not want to end flame wars. Personally, I like flame wars when they are about something substantial and the contributors feel the same way, but all too often they degenerate to noise when people are each posting dozens of messages to the thread per day and talking past each other. I say that limiting how fast they can post will only improve the dialogue.

There are, of course, some things that people could do to try to counter this, such as getting multiple accounts. But it is the job of the moderators to regulate this, which, of course, was the reason for mandatory regulation in the first place.

Presumably the moderators would be able to make more than only two posts per day, but their posts would have to be about moderation issues only and not just their opinion on the issue of the moment.

There are many variations that can be made on my theme. Why only two posts per day? Why not make it higher? Three per day might be acceptable, or maybe four, or maybe even a few more, but an unlimited number per day? Hardly.

One could also make the restriction of number of posts per day a limit per forum. How about you can only make two posts per day on each of the different forums, rather than over all of them? Two posts per day, maximum, on each of the forums, so that even after you have hit your limit for the day on the General forum you can still post on the Eastern forum. I can see ways people can abuse this, but then no solution is perfect.

If nothing else, lock down the Southern Nevada forum to no more than two posts per day per poster. This would be a great test to see how this idea works without committing the entire board to it. A test to see how well it actually works.

Do I think that the people in control of nvbrothels.net will try out my idea? I guess not, but I'd like for them to at least give it some consideration and think it through because I think that their readers need and deserve it.

The Internet sucks up a lot of my time, and I am sure it sucks up a lot of your time, too. I am interested in the topic of legal prostitution in Nevada so I will try to wade through all the crap just so I can find the good stuff, but I really deplore the waste of my precious time that it takes me to do that. This proposal will not only save me time, but you as well. We can all benefit from it.

Be seeing you.

Bashful
